My turn! I did something a bit different with my drawings, since I've been meaning to try this out anyway and this was a good excuse. In any event, here's the meme itself:
"I know we're all used to just taking 15 minutes out of our time to fill out a form survey or something, but this one's a little bit different. For this, you need to draw 2 pictures of yourself: One of what you look like now, and one of what you looked like at the very beginning of high school. Then, post comments about it. The idea is to see how much you've matured since then, show how big of attention whores we all were back then (or that we are now, for some), etc."

So I bought the Hamlet soundtrack on itunes, because I've been in a mood for epic music lately, and it reccomended that I poke around the library of the "corner Stone Cues," aka the orchestral arrangement group that made the Requiem for A Tower rearrangement of Luz Aeterna.
Holy shitballs. They covered Kashmir and it may be one of the most epic things ever.
In other news, I am fifty feet from my car and cannot see it out the window. This snow is insane.

Erm, hello, all, I hope no one is dying. Apparently Jinny contracted the nastiest 24 hour flu anyone has ever seen, and its spread like wildfire to anyone who came into Roxx this weekend. So yeah. Its not pleasant, and with luck it won't spread any more.

pet peeve: when the History Channel deliberately misrepresents facts that are already interesting in order to punch them up. I'm watching this video about Medieval torture methods, and they're about to go to commercial when they introduce their next segment, which is torturing people by putting them on spikes. Obviously, the specific case study is Vlad the Impaler. But the voiceover dude says the following line. "Up next, the torture methods of a man who was so cruel he received the nickname of 'devil'...his real name was Vlad Dracula." And then they went to commercial.
EXCEPT THAT YOU'RE WRONG.
the name Dracula (properly pronounced, by the way, as Drac-oo-lee-uh, which kinda bugs me when they pronounce every other word with a romanian accent to feel special, but not Dracula because its too recognizable) means "son of Dracul," which was the Romanian word, at the time, for "Dragon." It GAINED the meaning "devil" based on the reputations of Vlad II and Vlad III! The name was originally given to Vlad II when he joined the chivalric society The Order of The Dragon, which was essentially a big group o' guys who hated the turks. And since he was rather famous for hating the turks, he took the order's name as his own. Thus his son, Vlad III, added the -a suffix meaning son of, giving us dracula. and on TOP of all this, he preferred to be referred to as Vlad Tepes, meaning "The Impaler," thus the english name for him.

Merry Chrismas! Give all of you presents to Chris!

anyway.
Hope all of you folk are doing well. I'm wearing a track jacket with epaulets (yeah you read that right) and playing Chrono Trigger while listening to Reckoning Night, and debating whether Dr Who, Angel, or Arrested Development later.
Its been a good morning.
Also, I got a clock with muscle cars on it, and at each hour, it plays the sound of that car's engine starting up. Its badass.

So The official Dragonball (now titled Dragonball: Evolution) trailer is up on youtube.
It still rather sucks, BUT.
1) I love James Marsters's Piccolo voice. I approve.
2) Capsule corp foldy-bike!
3) KAMEHAMEHA. No more needs to be said.
But their version of Master Roshi is just awful. I know he's a phenomenal actor and martial artist, but seriously, Chow Yun Fat in a hawaiian shirt playing Chow Yun Fat in a hawaiian shirt is not what Im looking for.
Also, apparantly no one making this film paid attention to the Speed Racer movie, because movie Goku has the same flaws as movie Speed: too damn serious and commanding.
So that's my two cents worth.

I tend to hate sundays, especially when I'm tired. There's always the reminder that I had an amazing time yesterday but have to go to class tomorrow. Meanwhile, there's nothing to do but be bored. It makes me feel like I'm in a "Bellen" comic. Look it up, its often depressing, but I identify with it.
At least there's tuesday off.
Goodness, I am going to be a miserable wreck of a human being over thanksgiving break.
